The project shown on this page is one that is truly unique. The person that played the re-purposed piano was the mother and grandmother of the family. Unfortunately, none of her children or grandchildren learned to play. The family though had many fond memories of the lady playing and leading in song on the upright piano.
Thus, an idea was hatched. Could the instrument be transformed to something that the family (actually the musician's daughter) could have in her home and still honor the legacy of her mother.
What you see here is the result. As you look at the harvest table (as legacy) please note all the parts with very few and small exceptions are all from the piano- original and unchanged, finish included. Note also that the top of the table flips upward to reveal all the keys from the piano in the exact order as keys on a keyboard should. The keys are removable for cleaning and if needed repair.
Here is the piano as the harvest table. If you look carefully you will see parts that are from an upright piano.
To maintain the essence of the piano, the keys are placed in the body of the table. Grandmother would be very pleased.
